
The aim of this legislation is to simplify, rationalise and consolidate
existing fire safety legislation. It will provide for a risk-based approach to
fire safety allowing more efficient effective enforcement by the fire and
rescue service.
The new regime of fire safety enforcement is to be brought into force on
1st October 2006 will effect employers and those who are responsible for,
non-domestic, Industrial, commercial and residential premises including all
hotels and catereing establishements
A fire risk
assessment helps you identify all the fire hazards and risks in your workplace.
You can then decide whether they are acceptable or whether you need to do
something to reduce or control them.
The assessment
should be carried out by someone who has had sufficient training or has good
experience or knowledge of fire safety.
